Some Things Make Me Angry...

Suicidal Advert

This advert makes me angry.

I'm not a fan of censorship, but I'm a big believer in corporate responsibility. The glamorization of suicide is not the nicest way to help you sell your fizzy water and let's not forget that South Korea has the highest suicide rate among the 30 OECD countries. What a classy method to advertise your product in the country that claimed nine celebrity suicides last year...

Congratulations Trevi (produced by Lotte Chilsung), you win the prize for sleaziest exploitation of unhappiness in a printed bus stop advertisement for 2010.

Wow! I haven't seen this yet. I've been perplexed by the H&M ads EVERYWHERE only in English lately. Haven't seen this one yet. Makes me angry too.

Good find, and I agree completely.

As I agree with you completely in regards to the ad glorifying or making light of suicide, I feel it necessary to make a few comments about the product being advertised. As a man who enjoys a good cocktail and finds himself rather disappointed by what he is served in most bars here in Korea, Trevi is like a beaming light of salvation. I would like to think that I could afford San Pellegrino and Perrier for all my home-made cocktail needs but this is just not the case. Trevi provides soda or soda with lime at a mere 1000 won a bottle which couples so well with a spirit of your choice.
